Hello Parents!
It’s that time of year again, and I’m excited to be part of your child’s team.
My name is Kyle Boyd, and I will be your child’s soccer coach this season. Laura Jelenik will be the assistant coach.
Our team name is the “Firehawks” and our team color is NAVY with RED letters.
This letter will serve as a starter to some of the information I’ll be providing you over the next month.
To start, practices will begin March 2 and will run from 5:15-6:15. They will be held on the soccer field north of the High School. For practice, please try to attend as many sessions as you can. We will be teaching many different ideas and so attendance will be vital for your child to understand it all. Practices will focus more on positional play, strategy, and tactics and less on skill and foot work. This should be practiced at home as much as possible.
Shin guards are required for the games (dates TBD) and recommended for practice. Also, please provide a drink for your child for practice. There will also be an orange slices/post game snack schedule made as well.
As I learn and think of more information, I will share immediately to ensure you all are just as informed as I am. Please feel free to contact us with any concerns or questions.
P.S. - My overall goal as a coach is not to just fabricate wins but to develop the players and improve. When this happens, wins will come.
